Dale (Keyboards, Guitars, Vocals) is an award-winning L.A. based singer/songwriter ("The Lone Ranger" and many others). Music fills up most of his time, whether he’s writing, teaching, or playing – either solo or with one of his bands. His is the “house band” at Santa Monica’s monthly “Songwriter Sanctum,” and he hosts a weekly open mic night near his home in Tujunga. A Beatles fan since childhood, Dale is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful and challenging project. His amazing keyboard & guitar acumen and vocal power are crucial to the ability of THE BEATUNES to reproduce The Beatles as a live act, bringing all the keyboards, horns, and orchestrations to life in Real Time with NO "pre-recordings," and he plays a mean cowbell, too!
Berington (Lead Guitars, Vocals) began playing guitar at 12, songwriting shortly after that. He plays various 6- and 12-string guitars, bass, keyboards, Mellotron, and sings. A 47-year veteran of guitar, Berington is quick to say, "After seeing them on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ The Beatles single-handedly ruined my future medical career!" Since 1977, Berington has enjoyed a career in music scoring for feature films, TV & award-winning documentaries, incl. the USOC’s Official Films of the 1984 Sarajevo & L.A. Olympic Games; series for Paramount, ABC, The Discovery Chan., Showtime, A&E, 1988 “Glory of Easter” pageant at Orange Co.’s Crystal Cathedral, & much more. Featured on many recordings as Producer &/or session artist, he’s currently recording a new CD of his own unique music, and currently teaches Guitar & Bass, as well. THE BEATUNES are in many ways a joyful homecoming to the music that got him started in the first place; a fantastic opportunity to share it with other great players and fans of ALL ages.
Michael (Bass, Vocals) is a gold & platinum record award-winning songwriter, Michael is one of the composer/songwriters & vocal performers of the ‘80's animated TV series, Robotech. His music has been featured on other series including Fame, Northern Exposure, MTV's Parental Control, Good Morning America, P.M. Magazine, Eye On Hollywood, & Friday Night Videos. His songs have been recorded by Jermaine Jackson, Pia Zadora, Three Dog Night, and others. A vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist & producer, Michael was a lead singer for legendary rock band “Paul Revere and the Raiders,” & guitarist for Las Vegas headliner Lola Falana. Michael has appeared with Joe Cocker, Boz Scaggs, The Beach Boys, The Association, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Spencer Davis Group, Mitch Ryder & Detroit Wheels, Average White Band, Jan and Dean, The Dixie Dreggs and many others. He also fronts L.A. Sting tribute band “Ghost In the Machine.” The Beatles have always played a major role for Michael, so now he plays a major role with THE BEATUNES!
Matt (Drums, Percussion, Vocals) is an award-winning drummer/percussionist who started drums when he was 7, inspired by big band phenom Buddy Rich and Peter Criss of KISS. He loves all styles of music, but his favorite music is that of the ‘70s: he usually listens to Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Death Metal music. Matt has always thought The Beatles were great… always had a real appreciation for them, but before joining THE BEATUNES, had never owned any of their CDs. AND - get your guns ready: he’d never really thought of Ringo as being a "Great Drummer." HOWEVER… that has all changed since joining THE BEATUNES. Learning to play The Beatles’ music has been a challenge he’s met with extraordinary accuracy and speed. Matt now admits his realization that Ringo was, and is, in fact, an incredibly “musical” drummer… "more than just a great drummer, and The Beatles were geniuses!"
